As a full time Mum of 3 children, moving to Essex in 2003, I struggled to find a job that fitted in to our new home life. So I started making a bit of pocket money selling my Cross Stitch Cards to family & friends. In 2004, when designing our Wedding Thank You cards, I stumbled across rubber stamping. I also quit smoking shortly afterwards & found that crafting helped to keep my hands busy. By 2009, my crafting had started taking over my home & so Thread-bare was officially born. My kids started moving out so I was able to convert our spare bedroom into my office & craft studio.
In 2015, I learnt to crochet & my crafting focus shifted from cardmaking to Knitting & Crochet. I still love Cardmaking but find that the supplies side is evolving too often & keeping up with the changes became too stressful. So I have slowed down that side of Thread-bare to focus where my new passion for yarn lies.
Now in 2020, where the world seems to be changing forever, my online business is growing every day. I haven't been able to attend any shows this year so my focus has again shifted slightly & I am building up the Handmade side of the business, with new items added as often as I can get them finished. My passion for the business constantly increases with each new challenge & I am looking forward to where the future will take me.
